It is with great emotion and solidarity that I accepted to get involved as honorary president of the MEMORY WALK. I am very sensitive to the needs of those suffering from Alzheimer's and their families, since I too have acquaintances that are battling against this disease.
Alzheimer's disease progressively takes away all memories, souvenirs and general knowledge. For those people with Alzheimer's, this disease places a veil on who they were and what they accomplished, leaving their loved ones with the task of remembering everything for them. It's a terrible scourge that leaves families completely helpless.
The Alzheimer Society of the Rive-Sud carries out important work by supporting families that are faced with one of their loved ones battling against Alzheimer's and that are mostly powerless in the face of this disease, by organizing workshops, meet & greets, training sessions for paid caregivers and attendants and soon, a respite service for families.
THE MEMORY WALK is a pleasant way to participate actively, where each step taken will be for the funding of the Alzheimer Society of the Rive-Sud.
Participate in great numbers in this MEMORY WALK on May 25th and thank you for your generous support.
