It is well-known that the ravages of Alzheimer's disease affect the person suffering from the disease as much as this person's family circle. It is an insidious disease, which progresses at a troubling pace and, which is the subject of important research programs worldwide.
Luckily, hope continues to motivate and mobilize us. It is in this context that I decided to become associated on behalf of Laurentian Bank with the Alzheimer Society of Sagamie, for a wonderful event that raises awareness about this cause: the Memory Walk.
This event entails a fundraising campaign where the funds collected will be used to provide services to families and caregivers, as well as direct care to people suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Held simultaneously in all regions of Québec, the Memory Walk is an inclusive event that gathers the general population and the business community for a common cause. This event will take place on May 25th in St-Ambroise.
At home, the Alzheimer Society of Sagamie relentlessly carries on its work to raise awareness, among the general population, of this disease that can affect someone you love so dearly. We hope, as you do, to translate this fund raising event into positive fallouts for the community. Therefore, we invite you to join the many walkers and volunteers to make the Memory Walk in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean a real success.
