When I was asked to be honorary president for the Rona Memory Walk, I accepted right away since you never know what life will throw your way next. Alzheimer's is an insidious disease that can affect anyone, a loved one, a parent.
Although no treatment for Alzheimer's disease exists as of yet, research is ongoing and, in the meantime, there are programs to help caregivers as well as people suffering from the disease. Furthermore, with the funds that will be collected, the Alzheimer Society will be in a position to focus its efforts towards support and education programs for caregivers who have a great need to learn how to cope with living with someone suffering from the disease and to ensure that this person is as functional as possible.
In short, the Society needs our help. Let's make a small gesture and rest assured that it will make all the difference.
